The main types of usage of a multifunctional word "literally" in modern Russian

The object of this study is a polyfunctional word "literally". subject the semantic and syntactic features lexeme, which determine its multifunctional character. relevance research due to inclusion in problems studying phenomenon polyfunctionality modern Russian. purpose work establish main types use literally, their morphological, syntactic, qualification. From point view pragmatics, authors describe detail lexeme taking into account three grammatical implementations. article comprehensively examines syntagmatic characteristics unit using examples selected from National Corpus Russian language. scientific novelty lies fact that it presents for first time all implementations literally variants. It established has implementations: short adjective neuter gender, an adverb particle, differ based on properties functions, but have invariant component ‘exact correspondence words / meaning words’. proved are particle connected by intraverbial antonymy. specificity usage determined up expansion possibilities. revealed differences between two pragmatic. results can be used both other units lexicographic practice.
